Maybe I'll write about

  • Muffins

  • My laundry day

  • Yesterday's trip to Maxi

I also need stuff for the The Way Ward Blog

Groundhog Day!!

Can you believe it? Next Monday is Groundhog Day. It is finally here!
I thought I answer some FAQ about this precious American Holiday.

From http://www.groundhog.org/

"According to legend, if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter weather. If he does not see his shadow, there will be an early spring."

How qualified is this "Punxsutawney Phil?"
-"He has been making predictions for over 120 years!"

Does he know that the lifespan of a groundhog is 4-5 years?
-"Punxsutawney Phil gets his longevity from drinking the "elixir of life," a secret recipe. Phil takes one sip every summer at the Groundhog Picnic and it magically gives him seven more years of life."

Does this only work on groundhogs?
Why does he drink it every summer?

Is this for real? Are you s%*&ing me?
-"No! Phil's forecasts are not made in advance by the Inner Circle. After Phil emerges from his burrow on February 2, he speaks to the Groundhog Club president in "Groundhogese"(a language only understood by the current president of the Inner Circle). His proclamation is then translated for the world."

Hopefully we will be able to get together and watch this awe-inspiring event.

Being Thrifty Really Pays
Postad den 27 Jan 2009 vid 12:30

I have just read a new article that is shocking on so many levels.
The first two shockers were thrown away in the first sentence with all the normal background information.

First there is man from New Zealand who traveled to Oklahoma. Why?
1) New Zealand is so beautiful that for vacation he wanted to go the a bare and dusty place.
2) He was chasing tornados that would take him to the Emerald City.
3) He liked the musical.
So the last one was a little si-fi.

The second thing is he bought a MP3 player and a thrift store for 9.00 US dollars (63 kr).

The third thing and main topic of the article was that the MP3 player appears to have top secret government documents on it.

"The files included the home addresses, Social Security numbers and cell phone numbers of U.S. soldiers. The player also included what appeared to be mission briefings and lists of equipment deployed to hot spots in Afghanistan and Iraq. Most of the information appears to date to 2005." (1)

My only question is: What is going on in Oklahoma?

(1) Thrift store MP3 player contains secret military files. http://edition.cnn.com/2009/TECH/01/27/confidential.mp3.player/index.html

Projects for the December
Postad den 17 Dec 2008 vid 12:15

I need help with the building of my Christmas castle. Fill free to come over and help anytime.

My friend Russell and I have started a new blog project.

We posted our first four trial post last night. We are still trying to work out a format/style for the blog. Check it out and let us know what you think. Ideas are always welcome!! Qinn has already offered his skills so some really cool, spiffy, flashy things is to come.

MIT, a very popular university in the US, is offering free non-credit class online. There are a lot of subjects to choose from. The classes include lecture notes, reading list, articles, homework assignments and whatever else is necessary for the class. There is no teacher to turn your homework into and you won't receive anything for it but you might learn something. The biggest problem with most of the courses is the reading list. A lot of the books you need are in the library but you will have to order them. Sadly the phycology book Alex and I are waiting for will not be here till the next year.

Some new games have been added to the Massive Damage collection. Via Alex, Hado and I feel free to come over and try:
Trailer Park Tycoon for PC
Professor Layton and the Curious Village for DS
Animal Genius for DS
Virtual Tennis 3 for PS3

For those of you who are part of the Massive Damage facebook group I started the first discussion thread. Please comment! We have serious matters to discuss;-)
